Thomas Deacon Academy Chaplaincy

Thomas Deacon Academy has about 2,200 pupils....it also has a Chaplaincy Team.

The Chaplaincy Team members come from different Churches and CROPS in the City, providing support to the Christian Union and the Staff prayer meeting, as well as leading some assemblies.

In December 2010 the team are arranging for ‘Seeing is Believing’, a 3D multimedia experience, to be brought to TDA by GSUS live (see www.gsuslive.co.uk) for a two week period in December 2010. This will allow many of the pupils at TDA to engage with the experience which is about Jesus and Christianity during their RE lessons....and comes with mobile classrooms to deliver the multimedia experience!!

I work at Peterborough Foyer, supported housing for 16-25 year olds, which is a stone's throw from Thomas Deacon Acadamy in Tait Close. I've often thought we could do with a chaplaincy here. Any possibility of offering us some time? (Not that I'm sure our management would approve, but it's worth a try, especially as staff are so stressed at the moment because of the threat of cut-backs.)

Hi Jenny,
Good to hear you are doing some good work at the Foyer. I know there is always challenging work to do there.
You may get a response via the website from those who are in TDA, but what I advise you also do is join the Network Peterborough facebook site and post a comment on there asking for support. We have just set up this site and I would like people to start using it for generating these type of developments. What do you think?
