Julian Prayer Group

Once a month, usually on the first Monday at 7.30 pm, people from several local churches meet for about an hour to an hour and a half to pray silently (for about 30 minutes) together. We take it in turns to bring something with which to open and close the meeting. It may be a verse from the Bible, a piece of music, a prayer, poem or piece of prose.

We are part of an international network of contemplative prayer groups called Julian Meetings (see www.julianmeetings.org). We teach no specific method of meditation. We encourage people to find what is right for them; to discover how they can integrate contemplation into their daily prayer life and how personal and group contemplative prayer can enrich each other.
