Caring Calls Telephone Befriending scheme Salvation Army ‘Good Neighbours Scheme’
Could you volunteer to regularly telephone someone to help alleviate loneliness, social isolation, provide a listening ear and to have a good old fashioned natter!
Having the same person calling each week will allow a natural trusting relationship to develop over time.
As a volunteers you will have the option to make the calls from the Good Neighbours offices at The Salvation Army Citadel on Bourges Boulevard or from the comfort of your own home.
It is hoped that this flexible approach will open up volunteering opportunities to those people who would love to get involved but due to personal circumstances have so far been unable.
This is a new project run by a small group of existing volunteers and telephone calls will be offered to elderly clients currently waiting for a visiting Befriender.
