Classics
One of the most wonderful books I have ever read is The Greatest Thing in the World by Henry Drummond. Written over 100 years ago, it started life as a small study on 1 Corinthians 13- the ‘greatest is love’ passage in the bible. The book became a best seller. It will only take you an hour or so to read. You won’t be disappointed.
Another small book and a modern classic is Bruce Wilkinson’s The Prayer of Jabez. Have you ever asked God to bless you, to ‘enlarge your borders’? This book will help you break through and live as you were meant to live.
Two more modern classics worth you attention: The Normal Christian Life by the persecuted Chinese leader Watchman Nee takes us through the book of Romans at a gentle pace with great insight, helping us to live as God intended. More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell is one of the best books I have read in explaining our faith. If you have any questions about the fundamentals of our faith, McDowell helps answer them in this great little book.
